Harold Abrams is a two-time Emmy Award-winning producer, screenwriter, and artist whose work spans television, film, digital media, and visual art.

Born and raised in Denver, Harold graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder before moving to New York City to pursue a career in media. Over more than two decades, he has produced award-winning entertainment and documentary programming for PBS, VH1, MTV, CBS News, and digital platforms. His credits include Michael Jackson: Making History, MTV’s New Year’s Eve Dance Marathon, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Opening Ceremony, and the Emmy Award-winning documentaries World AIDS Day and Teens and Gun Violence. He has also had the privilege of telling stories featuring artists and cultural icons including Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and the Backstreet Boys.

Beyond broadcast television, Harold has produced digital media, documentaries, branded content, and educational campaigns for nonprofit organizations, using storytelling and design to amplify the voices of people of color while exploring issues of youth empowerment, public health, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. He also created brandnewdaydesigns, an online magazine and YouTube channel celebrating thoughtful design and the creative people behind it.

Today, Harold’s primary creative focus is screenwriting. His television series pitch Grave Affairs won the 2022 SeriesFest Pitch-A-Thon, and the pilot script was featured as a live reading at SeriesFest in 2024. His TV pilot screenplay, Last Dance, has also been recognized by the Austin Film Festival, and he recently completed his feature screenplay, CRUSHED, and is currently developing his next projects.

Harold lives in New York City, where he continues to write, produce, and create stories about love, identity, and the lives we didn’t plan for. —
